Sianz

Just came back from an interview. Feeling quite sianz now -- met another bad agent today; or rather, I just realised that this agent is bad. Seriously don't know if it is coz I am super sway.

The interview was okay and everything. I appreciate the job offering lots of exposure and learning opportunities (even though the pay not very high). The only thing which I am slightly uncomfortable with is that I have this worry that the permanent staff might expect my working style to be similar to the girl I am going in to replace. She is from SMU and works on a permanent part-time basis, when she is on holiday she will return to the company to help out. If I am not wrong she is with the company for around 1-2 years already. So, my worry that they might do comparison is definitely not unfound. Moreover she might be return to the company if there are major projects. From my experience with GMP, I have already learnt that if the supervisors don't like you, that means they don't like you, no matter how hard you try. A bit sad, but that's the way it is.

Reverting back to the "agent story". I have 2 more interviews on Wednesday and I told the company and the agent that I will only be able to give an answer on Friday. The company said okay; the agent actually has the cheek to say "it is not fair for the company". Generally in a nutshell, he is trying to suggest that I should NOT go for the 2 other interviews because I "can't have the best of both worlds". Oh pleaseeeee, firstly the company has not offered me yet; secondly it is ethically wrong to discourage candidates from going to other interviews. Needless to say, I was pissed. I then told the agent that it is not fair for me if I don't go for the 2 other interviews.

Apparently I was seriously irritated, so I called Li'an to complain. Even after whining to her, I wasn't satisfied, so I told my mother over lunch. Somehow, she got the wrong idea that I went for interview that the agency this morning and started to scold me saying that I shouldn't go to agents if I am uncomfortable with them and that I need not tell the agent that I am going for other interviews blah blah blah. To be honest, I am already very stressed up with her job not being stable already, which really explains why I am so keen to look for a job. I just wanted to whine, is it so hard for her to listen only? Seriously sianz.

Was telling Li'an that I feel so sianz and tired that I got the impression that I feel that I am reaching the end of my life, even though I am only 25.

Hopefully tomorrow's session at the gynae will bring me good news. Hope I don't need to take MC for too long. Best if I don't need surgery. Simply because seemingly the company I went to this morning is not keen to wait (not under agent's influence; point brought across to me by manager). Went out with Jasyln last Saturday, told her about my condition. She was a bit shocked that I am not worried about the cyst. Although there is nothing much to worry, come to think about it -- maybe I was too sianz to worry.

Where is my "best friend"?

It was a looooooooooooooooooooooong time ago since I last saw my "best friend". Her name is 小紅. Since I am missing her terribly, I decided to seek advice from my GP, Dr Chua.

Dr Chua is seriously a very good doctor, very experienced and he is very elaborate in his explanation. We trust him a lot. In fact, many a times, he was the one who found out and suggested that we need more specialised attention. For example, my mother's cyst near her liver, which was taken out 2 years ago.

This time is not an exception too. When he got to know that my 小紅 hasn't been visiting for such a long period of time, he made me go for an ultrasound scan. Though I am definitely not pregnant, this marks my first ultrasound scan. He suspected that there are cysts inside my womb or that the lining of my womb is thick, which might results in cancer in the future.

Result of the scan - My womb's lining is of okay thickness, but I have a cyst at my left womb/ ovary, measuring 4cm by 4.2cm by 5cm. Good news is that cysts are normally benign, so not a problem. Though it is not exactly a big cyst, it is not small enough to be completely ignored. If a cyst is smaller than 3cm, it is considered to be "safe". For my case, since it is bigger than 3cm, I can choose to go for an ultrasound scan regularly to check on the cyst (at around once or twice a year), or I can do something to remove it.

Possible (not going to happen for sure) complications include further growth of the cyst and that the cyst might cause pain if my healthy tissues get attached/ stucked onto it. Dr Chua further explained that this is possible when the cyst (round in shape with a stalk-like tip) moves and results in my tissues being entwined together with the "stalk".

So, conclusion is that I am going to see a gynae, Dr Fong, this coming Tuesday. He was the one who delivered me and my sister. So, he is also very experienced. He had appeared in some shows too. As I am not working now, I am actually pretty concerned with the gynae bill and initially wanted to go KK hospital or something. Dr Fong is practising at Glenneagles, meaning he is rather expensive too. Dr Chua then joked that I should tell Dr Fong that I was delivered by him, so he should give me discount. Hahah~! Anyway, Dr Chua still referred me to Dr Fong since he is a very experienced gynae and that he is my mother's gynae.

With regards to 小紅, Dr Chua has given me some hormone pills. However this is only a one time kind of treatment. For long term treatment, I will have to consult Dr Fong, who I can say now, is our family gynae. Dr Chua mentioned that I should lose weight to curb 小紅 problem, which is what YZ told me once. Okayyy, I am officially starting my weight loss plan.

To be honest, for unknown reasons, I am actually very shy to admit that I am on a weight lossing plan. I always think that it is very embarrassing to admit that you are trying to lose weight. But then again, in our society, who isn't trying to lose weight? Even those stick-thin ladies are trying to lose weight. Nevermind, I shall try to face my embarrassment problem. Apparently first step by admitting on my blog. But please don't come asking me about it ok, especially when you are a guy. Girls I don't mind so much.

Hopefully, my complexion will improve as my relationship with 小紅 improves.

Everyday we learnt something new. Today I learnt why banana is considered to be an erotic fruit. Guidance from Huishan and Yiying. Huishan tried to convince me that banana is erotic by explaining step by step, using Pan Weibo's appearance at 娛樂百分百 as an example. Yiying simply told me explicitly. Knowledge gained. Hahha~

Before today, I always thought of banana as just a yellow fruit 黃色 in relation to it being a 色色的水果. After today I shall see it in another light. Perhaps I will be reminded of today's "lesson" when I eat banana. Maybe I will burst out in laughter then. LOL.

1st training for GE 5km fun run

Jio-ed by Xiuling, Sijia, and Qiufen, I am tempted to join a "fun" marathon run (5km) held by Great Eastern.

First of all things, I seriously don't understand their humour and what they categorise as "fun". 5km and they are calling it "fun"?? Apparently don't sound all that fun to me -- I've gotta train very hard to complete that 5km can.

Although I have yet to register for the run, I went training today. I just went to a park near my place. Think the park should be around 400m, regardless, I had already assumed that it is. Hahha..

First day of training, I did 6 rounds. BUT, i only managed to run 15% or so only. No stamina and determination. I took 30min or so to finish these 6 rounds, which is what Xiuling too to finish her Shape run. (She used 34min to finish 5km) I was overtaked by uncles. The only people I overtook were chatting maids bringing ah ma and ah gong out on wheelchairs.

There was this guy who kept overtaking me too. Think he will not have a problem running Nike Run (10km) at all. He is really consistent and he is fast too. HAIZ. I've got to keep training and train hard.

Regardless, I had made a pleasant discovery! Tadah~
New workout station at the park!

I super like this workout station can! It is like the one below YY's block and near Sijia's place below the MRT track. Very nice! This brings me to another point -- I am not comfortable in bringing my hp out while jogging/ walking. Very troublesome. But luckily I did today (normally I leave it at home; apparently I left my brain at home when I went for my jog/ walk today), if not I will not be able to take a pic of the workout station! :D

I am having a headache now. *sianz* Jasmine said it could be due to hydration. *gulps down water*

Last night I received a call from a lady. She said that she is my secondary schoolmate's secretary. *gasps* Initially I didn't believe her and questioned if she is my schoolmate's girlfriend instead of secretary. Which leads to another shock -- my secondary schoolmate is married 2 months ago. *gasps gasps* My school mate is now working at Prudential as a financial planner. So the purpose of the call is to arrange a meetup with me. After I told the lady that I am not working now, she said that she will call me back again 2 months later.

Glad that my schoolmate is doing well now. :) During secondary school, he was one of those little boys (we are of the same age, just born in different months) whom I will dote on. Very cute and funny kind of guy.

I am a job seeker

I am frantically looking for a HR job, but it is so so so very hard to find. Though I have only started my search for 2 weeks, I can't help but feel sianz. So far, I had went for only 2 interviews in organisations.

The first one is a healthcare organisation offered very low pay saying that I do not have experience and hence only that pay. Moreover, I can already sense that my interviewer is pretty political. Since I agreed that I have zero experience, I was in a dilemma if I should accept the position. I was so troubled that I went to 求簽 can! Haha.. Mother said that since I 求簽-ed already I must follow the advice. The advice given was to be patient and wait. OK! I shall wait then. Haha..

The second one I was sort of conned into going for interview by the agent. The name of the agency has 2 words. First word means search, starting with R, and the second word means fast, starting with E. Apparently I am not very happy with their services. The agent told me that this job is a 6 months contract to perm position at this very reputable MNC. However, if I were to leave the contract within these 6 months, there will be a penalty of 1 month's pay. The reason the agent gave was because the company provide intensive training. The offering pay is my minimum, hence I went, especially since it is a MNC.

When I reached there, the manager told me that they are just looking for a temporary 6 months contract HR assistant. Meaning to say, I will need to leave the company after 6 months regardless of my performance. The job is basically to cover 2 HR personnels on maternity leave. No training will be provided -- I am generally left on my own. The 1st 3 months I am just required to do paperwork. Needless to say, I was totally shocked. This is a totally different story from what the agent said. I was rather disgusted by the action of the agent too.

The next day, the agent called me. I told her what she had said to me was totally different from what the manager told me. She acted blur. AND, she said that 6 months of working in the MNC will look good in my resume, saying she had my interests at heart etc etc etc. OH PLEASE!

To be honest, I was quite empathic with the manager. They are seriously shorthanded. In fact, they require me to start work on Thursday if I am agreeable. Moreover, I appreciate him being frank. BUT, the working location is at Science Park 2 and I live in Ang Mo Kio. And, I am totally not comfortable in letting the agency earn my money -- I still would have to pay them administration charges of $53.50 if I take up the job. So, needless to say, I rejected the job.

So now, I am still nua-ing at home. Haiz..

6th Day in Narita, Japan, and Singapore!

Our last day in Japan and then it is home sweet home.

1st Stop: Shopping 最後的衝刺

At this shopping center, Mummy bought some of her Little Twin Star stuffs and I bought my Muji bag. Totally heart my Muji bag, am using it to go for interviews now.

2nd and Last stop: Airport

At a glance, I thought I saw my name. Haha~ So it was my imagination.

The only guy being our tour guide. Fellow tour mates were saying that he looks so "out", like he wasn't taking a picture with us. His name is James by the way.

One of his jokes:
James: My previous girlfriend was a Japanese and the current is a Korean. Japanese are gentler and Korean are sexier.
Me: Huh? Then how you communicate with your Korean girlfriend?
James: Oh, we use body language.
Me: *regretted asking* Huh? Orh.
James: Haha.. We communicate using Japanese. She is learning dance in Japan.
Me: Orh....

After 6 hours of flight, we finally reached Changi Airport. I so so SOOOO miss my baby! Lucky me, 5th Auntie had helped us mopped the floor already. She and 4th Uncle (4th Auntie's husband) helped us feed Hersheys baby while we were away. Am so very grateful to her. She even helped us to do some of the household chores. *touched* Am totally glad we have all those aunties around us. They contributed many a times to delicious mealsssss and desserts.

Overall, I had enjoyed my trip to Japan and I hope that I will return in the near future. Meaning, I have to save hard once I start working. This Japan trip is definitely not cheap. But it is a really nice and interesting place to be in.

5th Day at Sapporo/ Narita, Japan

It is 4.35am now. I have an headache and yet I can't sleep. Hence Day 5. Kinda suspect that I am falling sick.

1st Stop: Buy cookies

Tour guide said that this shop will pack our cookies into boxes so that we can check in, hence buying here. The shops there are relatively small. Since it was early morning, not all of the shops were open.

2nd Stop: Shopping at Underground.

Didn't take much pictures, in fact only took one for Xiuling. Bought Burberry Blue Label (note, only Blue Label seems cheaper. Burberry is not as cheap) bags which were cheap in Japan. Ironically, some selected designer brands are cheaper in Japan as per compared to Singapore. The price difference can be as much as SGD$100 to SGD$250.

Tada~ This is the pic I took especially of Xiuling. This transparent umbrella is very common in Japan. Picture is taken in 7-11. By the way, their 7-11 sells steamed buns (bao) and cosmestic (even Kose) too.

3rd Stop: Tepanyaki Lunch

All of us have to wear bibs to prevent our clothes from getting dirty.

加料! Kobe beef! This is expensive I tell you! 2 plates like this costs SGD$100+. *Heartache* Tour guide said that since we are in Japan we should try this because it is really nice and unique to Japan.

The reason why this is so expensive is because the cows drank beer as water. Farmers rearing these cows will massage them with their hands too. They are then slaughtered when they are 3 years old. Our a-bit lame tour guide said that these cows will not resist the farmers slaughtering them because they have enjoyed their life already.

As you can see, the marbling is very even. As a result, the beef is really tender and juicy. No regrets buying it!

Sister said that we should take more pictures of the beef since it is so expensive. Haha~

5th Stop: ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel

We were all super tired when we reached the hotel. Seriously, this is the hotel which I liked the most. It is really grand and the services are real good.

They had a study table too. AND, the chair is a computer chair with wheels. Normally for hotels they just give us dinning chairs.

NOTICE! It has a personalised bedside lamp! I was super impressed by the bed can!

Reading books/ magazine. The first hotel that supplies reading books/ magazine. The book is one of those Atas expensive coffee table books.

The bathtub

The basin. They supplied 2 sets of shampoo, conditioner and shower foam. One bigger one at the side of the bathtub and smaller ones at the basin (for their customers to take home).

I seriously did not take a good picture to justify the toilet. Generally, the toilet is big and is divided into 2 areas. One is the bathing area which consisted of the bathtub and toilet bowl. Then the basin is divided with a mini counter/ partition. They had also provided a digital weighing scale below the basin. Naturally, it is also one of those Atas looking digital weighing scale which is made of glass/ transparent plastic.

All in all, I LOVE THIS HOTEL! It is seriously a pity that I was very tired and had to pack bags and did not enjoy my hotel room to the maximum.
